The newest Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Rohtak in Haryana has been inaugurated. However, the institute does not have a regular director, faculty or building of it's own as of yet.
Till the institute gets its own faculty, the faculty of IIM-Lucknow would organize classes. Recruiting faculty members to teach at the varsity may take a period of about a year. However, a permanent director for the institute would be recruited within a month.
As the new IIM does not have a building of its own yet, it would, for the time being, function from the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) campus until it can have it's own building, which might take a time period of 2 years. MDU would also be providing temporary residence to the faculty members from IIM-Lucknow.
The IIM is currently providing 50 seats, all of which have been filled up for the current academic year.
The institute had been formally launched by the Vice Chairman of Tata Motors Limited and Chairperson of the Board of Governors at IIT-Rohtak, Ravi Kant.
